a cornerstone ADAPTATION of 1 Chronicles 29
Then Alan Platt, the visionary leader, addressed Doxa Deo: “This ministry was singled out and chosen by God. But Doxa Deo is young and the work is huge – this is not just going to be a place for people to meet each other, but a house for God to meet us.
The leadership team have done their very best to get everything together for building this house for our God, all the living stones that are necessary: adults and children, senior citizens and teenagers, men and women, boys and girls, the rich and famous, the ordinary citizens of our city, gifted and called people.
Furthermore because their hearts are in this, in addition to and beyond what they have gathered, the pastoral leaders of Doxa Deo recently turned over a large percentage of their personal income for this place of worship for our God: R1,1 million – offering their best – they gave freely and willingly with joy, in answer to God’s call in order to provide for the necessary to build new and improved facilities for God in Tshwane.
And now, how about you? Who among all the called partners in Doxa Deo are ready and also willing to join in this act of giving?”
Ready and willing the heads of families together with their wives and children, ministry leaders and members of cell groups, musicians and singers, prayer teams and worship teams, forum and board members, …all stepped forward and started giving willingly.
Offering financial contributions (large and small) as well as their expertise and knowledge; presenting their availability by devoting time and assistance and giving their additional homes and motor vehicles, salary increases and special bonuses to the treasury for the building of the temple of God in the custody of Gerhard van Greunen and his devoted team of financial accountants - above all, everyone agreed to pray continually for this project.
And all the Doxa Deo partners were filled with a sense of celebration:
all that giving – willingly and freely! The exuberant leadership blessed God in full view of the entire congregation, saying:
“Blessed are you God, our Lord and King forever and ever, we pray that your Spirit will keep this generous spirit alive forever in these people always and keep their hearts and mind set firmly on the
Cornerstone – JESUS CHRIST.”

"Now think ahead from this same date. Think ahead from when the rebuilding was launched. From now on you can count on a blessing.”
Hag 2:18 , 19

I'll give you my full attention: I'll make sure you prosper, make sure you grow in numbers. You will have to clean out…. to make room for the new…I'll set up my residence in your neighburhood; I won't avoid or shun you; I'll stroll through your streets. I'll be your God; you'll be my people.”
